The United States is a country governed by the rule of law. Yet during the last administration, Joe Biden welcomed more than 10 million illegal aliens into our country, fueling drug trafficking, endangering families, and robbing opportunities from hardworking Americans. The Trump administration has fought since day one to reverse this damage and restore order to our southern border.
The Trump administration declared a national emergency on day one to secure the border, ended catch-and-release, and expanded efforts for the deportation of illegal aliens.
Senator Blackburn led the fight against the open border policies implemented by the Biden administration and has stood with President Trump in the fight to secure the southern border and protect American citizens. Secure countries have secure borders. A wall puts a stop to the caravans of illegal aliens trying to cross our border and block the flow of drugs, human trafficking, terrorists, and other dangerous criminals.

What Senator Blackburn Is Doing To Combat the Border Crisis
Senator Blackburn has led the fight to end the Biden border crisis, championing legislation to combat drug smuggling, human trafficking, child exploitation, and more.
At the start of the 118th Congress, Senator Blackburn led a delegation of her colleagues to the Del Rio Sector of the U.S.-Mexico border to examine the disastrous effects of Biden’s border crisis firsthand.
Senator Blackburn also led legislation aimed at combating human trafficking along the southern border. In April 2023 after learning that the Biden Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) lost track of 85,000 unaccompanied migrant children, Senator Blackburn blasted then-HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra and the Biden administration over this gross incompetence and sent a series of letters demanding transparency to protect these innocent children.
Senator Blackburn introduced the CONTAINER Act, which would authorize border states to place temporary, movable structures on federal lands along the southern border to physically obstruct illegal crossings. This legislation would empower states to act swiftly to protect their communities when federal inaction leaves gaps in border security.
She also introduced and has long championed the CLEAR Act, which would strengthen the authority of state and local law enforcement to apprehend, detain, and transfer criminal illegal aliens to federal custody for deportation. The bill would ensure that sanctuary jurisdictions cannot block cooperation with ICE and help build a comprehensive system to remove dangerous criminals from American communities. Her Make the Migrant Protection Protocols Mandatory Act would reinstate the “Remain in Mexico” program.
Additionally, Senator Blackburn introduced the End Child Trafficking Now Act, which requires a DNA test to determine the relationship between illegal immigrants coming across the border and any accompanying children, as well as the PRINTS Act, which prevents child recycling by giving U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) the authority to fingerprint non-citizens under the age of 14. She worked closely with the Trump administration to secure provisions in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act that authorize the utilization of these critical resources.
Senator Blackburn worked closely with the Trump administration to introduce the REMOVE Act, which would require the federal government to deport illegal aliens within 15 days of removal proceedings being commenced. Her Preventing Violence Against Women by Illegal Aliens Act would ensure any illegal alien who has been convicted of a sex offense is deported. She co-sponsored the Laken Riley Act, which was signed into law by President Trump to mandate that illegal aliens who commit theft, burglary, larceny, shoplifting, assault of law enforcement officers, and other crimes are arrested and detained until they are removed from the U.S.

Supporting ICE Officers Amid Escalating Threats to Their Safety
Senator Blackburn stands firmly with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers, who risk their lives daily to apprehend criminal illegal aliens, combat human trafficking, and restore law and order under President Trump’s leadership. She has praised the Trump administration’s deportation efforts, which have removed hundreds of thousands of criminal aliens since President Trump returned to the White House, including violent offenders, drug traffickers, and gang members. These efforts have made communities safer across Tennessee and the nation.
To protect these brave federal agents from growing threats, including a surge in assaults and doxxing attempts, Senator Blackburn introduced the Protecting Law Enforcement from Doxxing Act. This legislation would make it illegal to publicly release the names or personal information of federal law enforcement officers with intent to obstruct criminal investigations or immigration operations.
