Commerce, Science, & Transportation Committee
Senator Blackburn serves on the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee that has broad jurisdiction over interstate commerce, broadband and communications technology, manufacturing, trade, and tourism, as well as river, rail, highway, and civil aviation networks. Senator Blackburn also serves as the Ranking Member of the Consumer Protection, Product Safety, and Data Security Subcommittee.
Finance Committee
Senator Blackburn serves on the Senate Finance Committee, one of the original committees established in the Senate. The Committee’s jurisdiction includes issues related to taxation and revenue, health care programs and innovation, and trade. As a member, she champions fiscally responsible pro-family and pro-business tax policies, support for health care innovation, and trade policies that stimulate opportunity in the United States and combat the anti-competitive behavior of the Chinese Communist Party.
Judiciary Committee
Senator Blackburn serves on the Senate Judiciary Committee, which is charged with consideration of all federal judicial nominations, including justices for the Supreme Court of the United States, as well as federal appellate and district courts. Additionally, the committee plays a key role in legislation related to national security, civil liberties, border security and immigration, patents and trademarks, and all the rights afforded under the Constitution, such as our cherished Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms. Senator Blackburn also serves as the Ranking Member of the Human Rights & the Law Subcommittee.
Veterans' Affairs Committee
Senator Blackburn serves on the Veterans’ Affairs Committee, which is the principal committee that ensures we live up to the promises made to our men and women in uniform. Senator Blackburn knows that our veterans rank as the bravest among us, and she takes seriously her duty to fight for them and their families, who have sacrificed so much in the defense of our nation.
